About Strawberry Plains Audubon Center

Welcome to the Strawberry Plains Audubon Center - where nature and history meet. The center was founded when sisters Ruth Finley and Margaret Shackleford donated a 2,400-acre property to the National Audubon Society in 1998. Since then, Audubon has taken up management of additional DOT mitigation properties, expanding the managed acreage to 3,000. Audubon Delta is the regional Audubon office that manages Strawberry Plains.

Strawberry Plains Audubon Center has demonstrated how local conservation—through working lands and bird-friendly communities—enhances the welfare of wildlife and people. While at Strawberry Plains Audubon Center, you can hike the trails, view birds year-round, and explore a variety of woodland, grassland, and watershed habitats.
